Brian Hardesty CrouchRev. Brian Hardesty-Crouch is the Founder and President of HOLY MOMENTS, a ministry of writing, training, and teaching for spiritual growth.  An ordained elder in the North Texas Conference of the United Methodist Church, he has served on staff in congregations both large and small.  Brian is a specialist in both spirituality and youth ministry.  Typical engagements include a “Tools for Faith” retreat for historic Church Street UMC of Knoxville, Tennessee, a vision retreat for College Hill UMC of Wichita, KS and “Address Your Stress” at Spring Valley UMC of Dallas.

A prayerful soul, Brian has served as the Chaplain & Spiritual Director for the Duke Youth Academy for Christian Formation at Duke University in North Carolina.  He is a Visiting Faculty member at Duke Divinity School teaching Christian Spirituality.  He teaches annually at the Perkins School of Youth Ministry at Southern Methodist University and has taught at the Youth Ministry Institute at Methodist Theological School in Ohio.  Brian was one of the first persons ever awarded a Visiting Scholars and Pastors Fellowship with the Perkins Youth School of Theology in Dallas.  His popular series, “God-Truths with ‘The Simpsons’” attracted over 1,000 people in Tennessee.

Working with Future Focus 2020, a futurist think-tank of the Babcock Graduate School of Management at Wake Forest University that assists organizations in developing strategies aimed at maximizing their potential, Rev. Hardesty-Crouch has been a consultant for churches and Annual (regional) Conferences, providing ministry audits and recommendations for new visions.

A thoughtful writer, Brian’s writing credits include The Upper Room, Alive Now, Devo’Zine, GroupPublishing.com, Youthworker Journal, Bible Quest, Reel to Real, and The Dallas Morning News.  He served as a founding writer and later as editor of LinC for the United Methodist Publishing House (Nashville.)  He also wrote Closer to God: Youth Experiencing Prayer and Closer to God: Prayer Journal for Abingdon Press.  Customized curriculum and ready-to-go resources are available through the catalog listing of HOLY MOMENTS.  Check out Holy Things for Youth Ministry: 13 Practical Sessions.

In leadership with the Youth Division of the North Texas Annual Conference, he shared the vision of “more kids experiencing God’s love.”  Brian has experience as a District Youth Coordinator, Camp Director and curriculum writer.  He served on the Conference Board of Discipleship and was elected to the national Steering Committee of the United Methodist Youth Organization.  He was also a liaison to the Shared Mission Focus on Young People and a workshop leader at national vocational Exploration events of the General Board of Higher Education and Ministry.  He’s a certified mentor for those seeking ordination.  Brian was the guest Bible study leader for the Jurisdictional Youth Ministry Organization.  Serving others in mission has led Brian to Mexico, Russia, Mozambique, and locations across the United States.  He’s also a volunteer at his local church, engaged in liturgy, stewardship education, food for the poor, small group discipleship, and Bible Town Tuesday, an after-school ministry for children at-risk.

As a gracious and challenging preacher, Rev. Hardesty-Crouch has brought a passion for the Word of God to all sizes of gatherings, from congregations of twenty to those of thousands in inner-city, rural, metropolitan, and suburban settings.  College students, singles, and senior adults also enjoy the services of HOLY MOMENTS.  Flexible in many aspects of ministry, Brian served several years with a program for hospital chaplains, offering compassion to persons facing illness.

Brian also enjoys skiing, reading, feasting, flying, and hiking with the dog.
